Melissa DeRosa is a 39 year old former government official who served as a secretary for the Governor of New York, Cuomo. Her roles included communications and chief of staff, and she was also the first woman to hold this role. Moreover, she also worked for Biden and Obama in different roles.

Melissa DeRosa was born in Rochester, N.Y, on June 24, 1983, and was raised in Albany and Saratoga Springs. She was born to father Giorgio De Rosa, who is a lobbyist and a senior at Bolton st John’s, and mother Melody de Rosa. DeRosa also has two siblings named Joey DeRosa and Jessica DeRosa, who also work at Bolton-St. Johns.
Rosa started her career as an intern when she was 16 for the political director of New York State. She finished school in 2000 at Albany Academy for Girls. After her school, she graduated from the university of Cornell University’s School of Industrial and Labor Relations.

Moreover, she also worked for Hillary Clinton while being an undergraduate in Washington, D.C. DeRosa then worked for a year as a publicist for Theory, a fashion house in New York. Following her career, she also worked as a lobbyist for Bolton St John’s.
Why did she resign from her Role?
Melissa DeRosa resigned from her post as an aide to former New York Governor Andrew Cuomo in August 2021 after facing multiple problems, including Sexual harassment scandals, cover-up of nursing home deaths, bullying allegations, and Cuomo’s resignation.
After all that had happened to her, DeRosa wrote a book called “What’s Left Unsaid: My Life at the Center of Power, Politics & Crisis”, which was her defense, following the actions and criticizing the political pressure that led to Cuomo’s downfall.

Melissa married Matthew Wing on August 29, 2016, in Sagamore Resort. Wing is an Uber senior communications officer who was formerly a Cuomo press secretary and then communications director for the governor’s re-election campaign. They met in 2013 when both worked for Governor Cuomo, when she was the communications director and Wing was a press secretary.
Unfortunately, DeRosa is no longer married to Wing and information about there childrens are not to be found anywhere. Wing was born to mother Audrey Strauss, who served as United States Attorney for the Southern District of New York. Although the divorce, Melissa still has posts of them in her Instagram since the beginning.
