Leah Parry

For those who don’t know who Leah Parry is, She is a famous professional softball Australian Olympian. Leah has represented Team Australia in the Tokyo Olympics 2020. Parry is in charge of the bases for the Aussie Spirit. Despite being the 227th player to make her debut for Australia in 2003, Parry, who now has 140 caps, feels that there is always something new to learn.

Leah started playing softball at the age of seven. She grew up surrounded by the sport. Her father played baseball and softball, and her mother played softball. Leah began playing for Western Australia in 1993 at the age of just 13. She was very young when she played for the Fremantle Rebels in the Perth Softball League.

Her Comeback

In 2008, Parry was cut from Australia’s Olympic softball squad. Softball was eliminated from the Olympic Games until it was brought back for the 2020 Tokyo Games. She later participated in the Asia Pacific Cup in 2019 and the Women’s Softball World Championship in 2010.

After being chosen for the 2010 World Championships, she chose to take a two-year hiatus. When it was revealed that softball would once again be an Olympic event in 2020, she made a reappearance.

WA has two players on the Australian team, including Leah Parry, 41, who returned to the sport after missing out in 2008. Well, She has her second son, Tom, and she returned and participated in the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, The squad did not contend for a medal despite winning one of their five group-stage matches. However, the match was particularly memorable for her and her family because it was also her father’s birthday.

She presently competes in Perth’s two top leagues: the A grade in the SEMSA competition and the State League in the Perth Softball League.

Leah Parry Personal Life

Leah Parry is 44 years old as of 2024, She was born on Jul 1, 1980, in East Fremantle, Western Australia. Parry earned a Bachelor of Exercise Rehabilitation Science and a Graduate Diploma in Education after departing Santa Maria in 1997.

After graduating from Year 12, she took a gap year and lived and worked in Vancouver, Canada. She has worked occasionally at Iona Presentation College for nine years, where she currently teaches health and physical education.

Leah married to her husband in 2008. She is a mother of 2 children Austin, age 12, and Tom, age 6.
